The idea of making fluid and breaking effect is basically similar, there are three major steps: first you need to pull out the characters or subjects individually and copy them to the new layer, then use the liquefaction or Smudge tool to add a bit longer to the part where you need the fluid, and then use the mask and brush to control the fluid area and change the background to get the desired effect.

1, in Photoshop to open the image character picture. Shortcut key Cmd/ctrl + j Copy background layer, select "Polygon Lasso Tool", make a rough selection on portrait periphery, select "Fill" when the selection is complete, click "Content Recognition" in the pop-up dialog box and click OK.

Then press Cmd/ctrl + D key to cancel the selection, if you feel that the portrait is not fine enough to use the "clone Stamp Tool" to repair.

2, go to the Layers panel, click on the top layer of the front of the eye icon, hide the first layer. Then select the "Background" layer below, select the Magic Wand tool in the Tools panel, select Add to Selection, set tolerance to 10, hold down SHIFT and click Background to select around the portrait until all blank areas are selected (note the details of the gap between the legs).

3, by the inverse of the shortcut key Cmd/ctrl + Shift + I, select the portrait, and then click "Adjust the Edge", in the pop-up dialog box tick "Smart radius", the radius of pixels set to 1 (if you think the thinning is not enough, you can change the radius of the value of the slider), Adjust the output to "new layer" in the output after you feel OK.

4. In the Layers panel, drag just the new layer to the top, then press Cmd/ctrl + J key to copy. Double-click the topmost layer, rename it to "Scatter", rename the layer below it to "holes", and then display the layer that we hid in step two and rename it to "behind."

5, select the layer of "scatter" layer, click on "Filter" > "liquefaction", select "Forward Transform Tool", then adjust the brush to the right size (around 1000), and then stretch the right half of the portrait to the right, which is the basis of our dissipation effect. So try to stretch to close to the border, and then click OK when satisfied.

6, hold down the ALT key click the "Add Vector Mask" icon in the Layers panel, add a black mask to the "scatter" layer, and you will find that the liquefaction effect we just had was hidden.

Click here to download the brush and then unzip it. Then click on the Brush tool, click on the small triangle (or pinion) in the upper-right corner of the screen in the brush selector, and select load brush. Then press X (the English keyboard state) to set the brush to white, select the appropriate brush in the last step where we liquefied the click, so that it appears dissipation effect.

7, in order to enhance the effect, you can try several more brushes. When finished, select the "holes" layer in the Layers panel, add a layer mask, and paint a blank on the portrait with a black brush.

8, select "Behind" Layer in the Layers panel, then choose "File" > "place", put the file background material into the image, adjust the image size to make it as large as the original file.

And then add texture 1 files, in the Layers panel, change its blending mode to soft light, add a mask, select the Gradient tool, select radial gradient in the Gradient tool menu, click D, select a point in the center of the image to press and drag to the edge to get a gradient. Then the file texture 2 is placed, and the mask and brush are applied around the portrait.

9, first lower the previous step two background layer opacity. Then click on the top background layer, click "Create new fill or adjust layer" in the layers panel to create a blue adjustment layer, and change the layer blending mode to "Partition". Finally add green material, layer blending mode for "soft light", add a mask, with brush smear, hide the bottom of the tree.
