When Does Oracle need Commit or OracleCommit?
After writing the DML Statement (update, insert, delete), you need to manually COMMIT. If there is no COMMIT, the updated content will be saved to the memory instead of submitted to the database, will not be seen by other sessions. In other conversations, you can see the data before the update. Oracle automatically Commit when the user exits the dialog.
DDL statements (create, alter, drop, truncate) come with commit, so you do not need to write COMMIT. Therefore, DDL operations cannot be rolled back.
After the DML statement is executed, if the DDL statement is executed again, the data that is not COMMIT is automatically COMMIT. Other SQL commands have the same effect: audit, noaudio, comment, grant, revoke, connect, disconnect, exit, and quit.
If you enable automatic submission, you do not need to manually submit the DML operation. SET AUTOCOMMIT ON
