We can go to "Disk Management" inside, right click on the disk model below, see the popup menu, if there is "convert to GPT Disk" word, that your hard disk partition is MBR mode, if you have "convert to MBR disk" word, your hard disk partition is GPT mode.
However: If you are installing Win7 (either 32-bit or 64-bit), your hard disk partition must be MBR mode.
If you are installing a 32-bit Win8, your hard disk partition is still MBR mode.
Only if you install a 64-bit Win8, your hard disk partition may be GPT mode.

2. If the motherboard supports UEFI, you can use GPT mode to create partitions on disks larger than 2T to install 64-bit operating systems. If MBR mode is used, the part that is larger than 2T is not recognized and can only be wasted.
3. If the motherboard is a traditional BIOS and does not support UEFI, then you can only install 64-bit or 32-bit systems using MBR mode on disks that are less than 2T. If the use of more than 2T disk, greater than 2T that part is not recognized, can only be wasted. Also, if the disk is larger than 2T, you cannot install any operating system if it is running in GPT mode.
4. WinXP does not recognize GPT disks and cannot read or write data on GPT disks, but is not affected by remote sharing.

Randomly preloaded Win8 computer, the disk is in GPT format, if need to install Win7 and other earlier version system, need to convert to MBR format, use the DiskPart command to complete the conversion.
Procedure: Note: Converting disk format requires emptying all the partitions and data on the disk, and before doing so, save all important data on the disk.
1. Use Win7 CD or USB stick to boot, enter the system installation interface.

2. Press SHIFT + F10 to open the command prompt. (Can be entered by running CMD).

3. Enter "Diskpart" (Do not enter quotation marks, the same below) and press ENTER to enter the interface.

5. Enter: "Select disk0" and select Disk 0 as the current operation.

6. Enter: "clean" to empty the current disk partition.

7. Enter: "ConvertMBR", convert to MBR partition.
