Windows 7 hard drive installation centos6.2 over detailed graphic tutorial (Dual System)

I have been configuring the Linux environment on my computer for the past two days, but unfortunately I have tried many versions that are not what I want, later, I thought that many books use RedHat 9.0 As the system explanation, so I made three dedicated disks for installation, but I still couldn't get through it, so I chose centos. It is from the source code compiled by Red Hat Enterprise Linux according to open source code regulations, and is free of charge, so this is the best choice.

Preparations:

1. easybcd, which supports a variety of operating systems and windows
7. The combined use of Vista, including Linux, Mac OS X, and BSD, also includes Microsoft's Windows 2000/XP. Any system that can be started properly before Windows 7 is installed can be started after Windows 7 is installed through easybcd. At the same time, the configuration is extremely simple, getting rid of the tedious and lengthy command of bcdedit. You only need to select the corresponding platform and startup method (such as grub or lilo in Linux) to complete the process.

2. centos6.2 installation image: (Note 1: The i386 version is selected because centos can only recognize hard disks in the FAT32 format, not NTFS format, while the FAT32 format cannot be enlarged to 4G files, x86
64 ISO files are larger than 4 GB, so they cannot be used. NOTE 2: There are two files, the file names are CentOS-6.2-i386-bin-DVD1.iso, CentOS-6.2-i386-bin-DVD2.iso)

Configuration steps:

1. Use the disk management tool provided by windows to reserve a portion of the disk space for Linux. The specific size depends on the size of the disks. Generally, the disk size is larger than 20 GB, because it is a dual system, the disk management tool path is: Right-click the computer icon-> Manage disk management. For details, see how to create and delete partitions in Windows 7 (system built-in disk management ))

2. For details about how to configure easybcd, see the easybcd centos configuration tutorial;

3. Configure the image file to put the two downloaded ISO files in the FAT32 format partition, and copy initrd. IMG and vmlinuz under the isolinux folder in the first file to the C: disk root directory;

4. Decompress images and decompress the images folder in the first ISO file to the root directory of the FAT32 disk (the disk where the ISO file is located)

So far, the configuration has been completed, and the following is the installation work (picture is in the Virtual Machine for convenience ):

1. restart the computer and select the boot item created with easybcd to go to the installation page:

Select install or upgrade an existing system (this interface may not be available for hard disk installation)

2. Hardware Detection

Skip directly (hard disk installation may not be available)

3. Select the installation language (Simplified Chinese)

4. Select the keyboard.

5. Select the installation media and hard drive

6. Select the FAT32 format partition where the ISO file is stored, and press enter to enter the graphical installation interface (the virtual machine is not installed in the first few steps, so the image is used)
