1. When Windows XP is used for the waiting time before disk scanning is canceled, if a power failure or crash occurs, Windows XP will automatically scan the disk after the computer is restarted. Before scanning a disk, the system will provide a 10-second countdown time for you to choose whether to skip disk scanning. If you do not want the countdown before disk scanning, you can also cancel it. Select "Start/all programs/Attachments/command prompt". In the Command Prompt window, press the "CHKNTFS/T: 0" command, press enter to change the countdown time before automatic disk scan to 0 s.

The forward/purgecache command (with spaces before the slash) is used to delete the object.

3. Delete the Driver backup Windows XP comes with a large number of hardware drivers. In the WindowsDriverCachei386 directory, find the compressed file "Driver. cab" and delete it.

4. delete unused input methods there are several input methods that we basically don't need in Windows XP, such as Japanese and Korean input methods. To delete the dashboard, go to "Control Panel date, time, language, and Region Settings area and language selection", and select the "language" tab, remove the hook before "Install files for East Asian language", click "OK", and delete unnecessary language options as prompted. After the restart, go to the "Windowsime" folder and delete the "chtime", "imju8_1", and "imk6_1" folders (corresponding to traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean ), in this way, the hard disk space of 85MB can be released.

5. Clear the system temporary files. In the "DocumentsandSettings username LocalSettingsTemp" Directory (Hidden directory by default), the temporary folders and discarded documents left after the software is installed and shipped, in this way, up to MB of hard disk space can be released. This method can be used frequently.

6. in Windows XP, The Taskbar "false dead" is common. In addition to installing Microsoft official patches to solve the problem, you can also disable the advanced text service, to prevent the taskbar from being "suspended" (because enabling the advanced text service consumes a lot of system resources and may conflict with some software, such as Handwriting Recognition and Chinese Keyboard Input ), the specific method is as follows:

Open the "region and language options" window, select the "language" tab, and click the "details" button to open the "text service and input language" window. Click the "language bar" button. In the displayed window, select the "Close advanced text service" option and click "OK". A confirmation window is displayed, click the "yes" button to disable the advanced text service, and then click "OK" to exit.

7. Every time Windows XP is started, the blue scroll bar will walk several times tirelessly. Do you really want it to take a few laps for the pursuit of high efficiency? In fact, we can reduce the rolling time to speed up the startup. You can open the Registry Editor and expand the HKEY in sequence.

_ LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSessionManagerMemoryManagementPrefetchParameters branch, locate the EnablePrefetcher sub-key in the window on the right, and change its default value "3" to "1 ".

Right-click my computer on the desktop, select the "properties" command, select the "hardware" tab in the window that appears, and click the "Device Manager" button. Expand "IDEATA/ATAP controller" in the "Device Manager" window, double-click the "secondary IDE channel" option, and select the "advanced" tab in the displayed dialog box, in "device type" in "device 0", change the original "Automatic Detection" to "NONE", and exit after "OK. The methods for modifying the "Main IDE channel" are the same. Restart the computer now to see if the scrolling time of your scroll bar is reduced?

Note: you cannot modify the "VIABUSMASTERIDECONTROLLER" option when using the VIA chip motherboard.

In addition, if you do not choose to create multiple different hardware configuration files, or you want to automatically load the default hardware configuration files during startup without displaying the list items, enter "0" in "seconds" in "hardware configuration file selection. Press the Space key to display the list.

8. When a network neighbor of Windows XP is in use, the system first searches for its shared directory and printers that can be used as network shares, as well as scheduled tasks related to the network, and then displays them, this will directly affect the running speed of the computer. Delete it if not necessary.

Follow these steps: in the Registry Editor, find secrets, delete {2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE08002B30309D} (printer) and {D6277990-4C6A-11CF8D87-00AA0060F5BF} (scheduled task) under it, and then restart your computer, when you access the network neighbor again, you find that the running speed has increased.

9. When Windows XP is shut down, the system will always send messages to the running program and remote server, notifying them that the system is shutting down and the system will not shut down until a response is received. If we want to speed up the boot, We can first set the time for automatic task termination.

Open the Registry Editor, expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelDesktop branch, find the AutoEndTasks subkey, and set it to 1. Set the "HungAppTimeout" subkey under the Branch to "1000" and change "WaitTOKillService" to "1000" (default: 5000. In this way, the shutdown speed of the computer can be significantly accelerated.

10. As we all know, Windows XP of Professional Edition retains 20% of the bandwidth by default. In fact, this does not play a major role for our individual users. It is better to make full use of the Group Policy as follows: Enter gpedit. msc in "Start> Run" to open the Group Policy Editor. Find "Computer Configuration> management template> network> QoS packet scheduler", select "restricted and retained bandwidth" on the right, and select "properties" to open the "restricted and retained bandwidth attributes" dialog box, select "Disable. In this way, you can release the reserved 20% bandwidth.
