WinRAR is a lot of computer users have installed file compression program, however, winrar in addition to file compression and decompression function, there are many practical office functions, for example, you can use WinRAR regular backup files, but also can be automatically backed up to the specified folder every day and the name is not duplicated, So, how does winrar automatically back up files? Take a look at today's WinRAR tutorial!
WinRAR
First, create a backup file
1. First, we want to identify the files and folders that need to be backed up. In this case:
The folder that needs to be backed up is located on the server d:projects (the path and folder is the folder directory you need to back up);
The folder where the backup files are saved is the "E:workflow_projects_bak" folder on the server's local computer (please establish the name "Workflow_projects_bak" folder under the E drive on the server), The LAN IP address is the "Workflow_projects_bak" folder of the 79.28.16.86 machine (please create the name "Workflow_projects_bak" folder under any partition on the IP 79.28.16.86).
The installation path for the WinRAR is C:Program Fileswinrar on the server natively. (please download and install the WinRAR software on the server prior to the sample steps in this document)
(The steps below are all based on the setup of this example, and you can make changes according to your own situation.) )
2. Create a backup list file
A suffix of 1st (L is the lowercase of the English letter L, not the number 1). The content of this file is the path to the specific data that needs to be backed up. Steps:
Create a new text document (or open Notepad), enter "D:projects" (excluding double quotes!), and then save it under the "E:workflow_projects_bak" folder, name and modify the suffix named "Eprasbak.lst".
To illustrate this point, if you want to back up multiple folder contents in the same directory, you can edit the Eprasbak.lst file in "D:projects" and add another directory folder path that you want to back up. such as D:log.
In addition, the purpose of the LST file is to have other folders inside the Projects folder, in order to be able to projects all files and folders to be backed up, it is necessary to create such a file, Otherwise, you can only back up the files under the Projects folder without backing up other folders and folder contents under the folder!
3. Create a backup file. Steps:
① set up a server native backup profile: Right-click on the desktop and choose new → shortcut to open the window titled Create Shortcut, where you click the browse button in the C:Program Locate and click the WinRAR.exe file in the Fileswinrar folder, then click OK to return to the Create Shortcut window, and then, in the text box under Type the location of the item in the window, move the cursor to the end of the line, and then continue to enter A-AG-EP2-IBCK E: Workflow_projects_bakprojects_bak.rar @e:workflow_projects_bakeprasbak.lst ", then click Next, enter the name" backup projects on this computer "and click Finish. (Note that you need to enter a space between commands!) after entering and setting the above steps, the final command line should be → "c:program FilesWinRARWinRAR.exe" A-ag-ep2-ibck e:workflow_projects_ Bakprojects_bak.rar @e:workflow_projects_bakeprasbak.lst) A shortcut to a winrar called "Backup projects native" will be generated on the desktop at this time.
In the future if you want to manually start the backup at any time (see "Three, the backup should be aware of"), as long as double-click the shortcut, WinRAR will automatically read in the background files and folders to be backed up in the Eprasbak.lst file, and automatically back up to "E:workflow_ Projects_bak "folder, automatically named" projects_bak+ when the date of the backup. rar "(for example, June 23, 2007 9:30 back up the file, the name is Projects_ Bak20070623093000.rar).
② setting up a LAN backup profile: Refer to the "① set up server native backup" above, only "A-ag-ep2-ibck E:workflow_projects_bakprojects_bak.rar @e:workflow_projects_ Bakeprasbak.lst "replaced" A-ag-ep2-ibck 79.28.20.101f$workflow_projects_bakprojects_bak.rar @E:Workflow_projects_ Bakeprasbak.lst ", then click Next, enter the name" Backup projects to 79.28.20.101 "and click Finish. (after entering and setting the above steps, the final command line should be → "c:program FilesWinRARWinRAR.exe" A-ag-ep2-ibck 79.28.20.101f$workflow_projects_ Bakprojects_bak.rar @e:workflow_projects_bakeprasbak.lst) A shortcut to a winrar named "Backup projects to 79.28.20.101" will be generated on the desktop at this time.
With the above configuration, we have been able to manually start a backup of the required folders. Below, we will make the backup automatic by combining the "Task Scheduler" with the common Windows feature.
Second, set up intelligent automatic backup start
1. Open the Schedule task. (click: start → programs → accessories → system tools → task Scheduler)
2. Drag the "Backup projects to native" WinRAR shortcut on the desktop to the "Task Scheduler" window, or copy the "Backup projects to native" WinRAR shortcut and paste it in the "Task Scheduler" window. A task icon with the same name will be generated in the Task Scheduler window.
3. Double-click the icon to bring up a window with the title of the same name, click on the "Schedule" tab in that window, then select "Daily" or "weekly" or "monthly" in the "scheduled task" drop-down list box, set "Start Time" to "12:00", then click "OK" and the title " Set the account Information "window, in the" Run as "setting the name of the account to start the scheduled task (that is, the server's current Windows operating system login user name, generally take the current default value administrator or other administrator users do not change), and then the" Password "and" Confirm password " Enter the login password for the user to log on to this computer (this example is the server).
At this step, every 12:00 automatically backs up all the file and folder contents under the D-Disk Projects folder on the server, and the "Backup projects to native" setting is complete.
4. Follow the steps 2 to create a "backup projects to 79.28.20.101" task icon in the "Task Scheduler", press step 3 and set the start time to: "Afternoon: 17:30".
At this step, every day 17:30 automatically back up the server on the D-Disk Projects folder of the required files and folder contents to the LAN 79.28.20.101 "Workflow_projects_bak" folder, to this " Backup projects to 79.28.20.101 "Setup is complete.
Iii. things to be aware of when backing up
1. Before performing a backup, you must ensure that the server is turned on, the path to the directory folder is correct, and it is best to stop all files or folders that need to be backed up before backing up.
2. If you want to take LAN multi-machine backup at the same time, then the machine must be powered on, and must first log in the folder that needs to back up the file or no need to enter the network password, otherwise winrar will not be able to provide a password and refused to perform a compressed backup. Therefore, it is best that the machine's login username and password are consistent with the server. (Administrative tools can be used to establish an identical user and password to give system administrator privileges, this example 79.28.20.101 is the use of administrative tools to establish a unified server administrator account, and unified password.) However, if a share is set up, there may be an unsafe factor, so it is not recommended to use the outside network. (This example does not set up a shared directory, but instead directly enters the drive letter for the backup operation.) )
Iv. another way to implement backup using Winrrar is introduced:
1. Please make sure to download and correctly install the WinRAR software on the server on the server, and then locate the folder directory where you need to back up, select the folder you want to back up to right click to select the "Add to Compressed Files" command entry to open the Parameters Settings window, click the "Browse" button, set the save path to E: Workflow_projects_bak. Click the "Update by" drop-down button to select "Add and Replace Files" or "Add and update files" so that you can only back up files that have changed in the same time, instead of repeatedly backing up files that have not changed, this method is suitable for incremental backups.
2. To implement an automatically named "projects_bak+" at the time of the month and day of the backup, the name must be in the "Generate compressed file name by mask" Check in the Backup tab.
3. Click the "Configure" button, select "Save current configuration as new configuration" to open the configuration Parameters window, change "configuration name" to "Projects_bak", and select "Save compressed file name", "Save selected file name" and "Create shortcut on Desktop" item, click "OK" two times consecutively button to exit and make the first backup operation.
4. Later, when the desired backup folder changes, at any time double-click on the Desktop "Projects_bak" shortcut icon to open the WinRAR window, press the "OK" button to complete the new backup. However, this shortcut, combined with the task schedule for Windows, is not scheduled to be scheduled to be backed up.
A task plan that combines Windows must be set up using the first method described above.
