Log on to Linux instances

Unlike the local operating system, there are also different tools for Telnet to the cloud server ECS instances. See the following table for how you log on to an instance.

Local to Windows system

Once the cloud server ECS instance is created, you can log on to the server in any of the following ways:

Telnet software (such as Putty): Log In this way, make sure the instance has access to the public network. If you do not purchase bandwidth when you create an instance, you cannot use Remote Desktop Connection.

Management Terminal: Regardless of whether you purchased the bandwidth when creating the instance, you can login to the instance through the Admin console's management terminal as long as you have a Web browser locally.

Log on to an instance using Telnet software

Remote login software is used in a similar usage. This document takes Putty as an example to describe how to remotely log on to a remote instance. Putty easy to operate, free, installation, download address: http://www.putty.org/

Start the Putty.exe program and enter the Putty main interface.

Enter the public network IP address of the instance in Host Name.

Use default port 22.

In the Connection Type, select SSH.

Enter the name you want to save in the Saved session, and then click Save so that you can easily invoke it later without having to enter the IP address each time.

Click Open to connect.

The following prompts appear when you first connect. Click Yes.

According to the prompts, enter your user name and password for the ECS instance of your Linux cloud server, respectively. The password does not appear on the screen. Enter when finished.

You are now successfully connected to the instance and you are ready to operate.

Using the management terminal

Management terminal as a different from the common Remote Connection tool, in the ordinary Remote tools (such as Putty, Xshell, SECURECRT, etc.) can not be used, you may through the management terminal into the Cloud server login interface, view the server interface at the time of the state; if you have permission to do so, Can log on to the server for operational configuration, for the technical ability of users to solve their problems have a lot of help.

Working with scenes

Management terminals apply to include but are not limited to the following scenarios:

Instance boot speed is slow, such as start self test, you can view progress through management terminal;

Your instance's internal software setup error has prevented remote connections (for example, firewall settings), you can log on by managing the terminal, and then reset the firewall;

Application consumption cpu/bandwidth is high, resulting in the inability to connect remotely (for example, by the broiler, process cpu/bandwidth run full), you can through the management terminal into the login to end the exception process.

Operation Steps

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Navigate to the instance you want to connect to.

Click on the right side for more > Connection Management terminals.

The first use prompts for a connection password. This prompt appears only once, and you will need to enter the password each time you log on, make sure you write down the password.

If you forget your password, click the Modify management terminal password in the upper right corner.

Click the connection management terminal for the Send Remote command in the upper-left corner. Enter the connection password connection instance.

Enter a username and password to log in. If the black screen persists because the Linux instance is dormant, click any key on the keyboard to wake up.

Locally for Linux or MAC OS X systems

Connect directly using the SSH command, such as the public IP of an SSH root@ instance, and then enter the root user's password for the instance to complete the login.

Mobile APP Login

You can also connect to an instance of a remote Desktop APP on your phone, such as an iphone user downloading SSH control Light to a Linux instance from the app Store.

How do I forget the instance login password?

If you forget the login password for the instance (not the password for the management terminal), reset the password.
