Android app2sd +

I used the miui ROM and model N1. After no leakage efforts, I finally made my 8g card into a good zone into app2sd +. Now I am deeply inserting it into N1, enjoy the great pleasure of app2sd +.

Many people may have this misunderstanding. Isn't app2sd simply installing the application on the card? This application can be forcibly installed on the SD card with pea pods! In fact, I thought so before until I saw this post: http://www.miui.com/viewthread.php? Tid = 132

Here, I will explain this concept with my understanding:
The app2sd and app2sd + mentioned in this article are actually app2ext, which separates the memory card into a partition for Android, so that the memory card can be closely integrated with the Android system. Unlike app2sd in Android 2.0 and later versions, the latter only installs applications on the memory card. in the android_source folder, the data and cache of the application are still stored on the mobile phone. So what are the benefits of app2sd +? I believe all those who have read the posts mentioned above will understand it.

I. Why app2sd +?
For more information about app2sd +, see the post I mentioned above.

2. Partition your memory card
There are two ways to achieve this:

Method 1: Use the partition tool on the PC to partition the memory card!
(We recommend that you first try method 2 below, but you need to read the partition mentioned in method 1 .)
Common partition tools such as acronis disk ctor and diskgenius can split the memory card into both the ext format and the fat format.
(PS. When I use diskgenius to partition, I can only split the ext2 format, while the ext3 format is more suitable for Android, especially miui seems to only support ext3 .)

Divide the memory card into three zones. The first zone is the normal mobile phone storage space: FAT32, and the second zone is the partition used by app2sd +: ext3, the third zone is the Linux swap zone used by the Android system.

Attach the partition tutorial written by others:
(PS. Be sure not to split the ext2 format as in the tutorial. The ext3 format is required! You do not have to follow these steps. For example, to delete a memory card space, simply delete the space in acronis disk ctor and then partition it! Remember the above two points! There are a lot of tutorials on partitioning the memory card on the PC, so the article is not powerful, please google on your own .)

Method 2: Use the recovery in the Android system to partition!
This method is the simplest and does not need to be tossed. Because the operation menus of the recovery s of different models and even different recovery s of the same model are different, most of them provide the partitions menu option to go to this menu, select partitions sdcard to partition as prompted.

Specific process:
1) Take N1 as an example. Press and hold the volume reduction key to open the host. Do not open the volume reduction key until you enter the fastboot interface. Select recovery with the scroll wheel and press the power key to enter.
2) restart the phone to recovery, select partitions menu, select partitions sdcard, and select partitions SD.
3) Are you sure you want to partition? Press the scroll wheel to determine, then jump out of the swap-size and Ext3-size options, use the scroll wheel up and down to adjust the size of the space, and finally determine the start partition, not allocated space is FAT32 storage space.
4) wait patiently for your screen to jump ..............., the duration of a hop depends on the situation. Generally, you can score the hop within 5 minutes ........ for more than 10 minutes, congratulations, you and I have encountered a mysterious problem. Give up on this method! I used to plug my mobile phone into the power supply. from the beginning to the next morning, the screen was still jumping ............, there is no sense of being tired. It is estimated that it is related to factors such as the card quality.

3. Enable app2sd + in Android
The difference between app2sd + and app2sd is that app2sd + stores the application cache and Application Data in the ext3 partition, app2sd only installs the application into the ext3 partition, and the data and cache of the application are still stored in the internal storage of the mobile phone, this is a bit like the app2sd that comes with Android 2.0 or later. If you want to app2sd or app2sd +, check your options and start:

First, ensure that there is a Super Terminal in your mobile phone and enter the following command:

# Su
Press enter. If authorization is prompted, authorize it!
# A2sd reinstall
Press enter to automatically restart the phone. This step is to reload the a2sd function and move the installed software to the ext partition.

OK. Now, app2sd is successful. If you want app2sd +, proceed to the following path:

After restart, go to the Super Terminal simulator and run the following command:
# Su
Enter
# A2sd zipalign
Enter
# A2sd cachesd
Press enter to automatically restart the phone. If app2sd + is successful, if your phone has not installed any applications, install them first.

Now, open root certificate e (if you haven't installed it on your mobile phone, install it first), check whether the root directory of your mobile phone already has a "SD-Ext" folder, and enter the folder, check whether there are folders such as app, app-private, and Dalvik-Cache. If so, congratulations, you have already added app2sd +.

----------------------------------
If your memory card has been split into ext partitions, but you do not know how to enable a2sd +, please use this tool: the plus toolkit cm private edition, can be used by CM-based systems, such as miui.

----------------------------------
After reading some replies, I replied to some general questions:
1. input the command # a2sd reinstall does not work and will not restart.
Possibility 1: The partition is incorrect and cannot be recognized by the system;
Possibility 2: you do not enter # Su to obtain the highest permission;
Possibility 3: The system does not support a2sd +, which may be applicable only to non-miui systems or non-CM-based systems.
2. How do I know that the partition is correct?
A: Check whether your ext partition is recognized by the system? Miui reference: Set system SD card-a2sd + there is no total capacity and available space. (Miui automatically identifies the correct ext partition and enables the a2sd function. However, a2sd + is not enabled by default, that is, the application cache and application data are still stored on the mobile phone .) If the total capacity is displayed, it indicates that the partition is correct. You only need to start a2sd + in step 3 above. (You can also choose to use the tool in the attachment .)
3. I have enabled ap2sd + and refresh the Rom. Will ap2sd + be retained? Do you have to do it again? After you refresh the Rom, as long as the memory card partition remains unchanged, the a2sd function is still available for miui. You only need to execute the command in step 3 to enable a2sd +.

-----------------------
After two months of experience, I will add:

1. If an unknown problem occurs in a2sd + during use (for example, the program in the ext partition cannot be opened), try:

# A2sd repair
This is a repair command, which is beneficial and harmless.

2. The Command provided above only moves the chache to the ext partition. If you want to move the program data to the ext partition, run:

# A2sd datasd

(Regret the command to move data into Ext: # a2sd nodata)

3. Do not want a2sd anymore?

Run: # a2sd remove

First of all, I would like to thank the forum for providing a lot of help !!
I am also a new user to buy G7, the phone has been painless root, night hand itch will be completely root, saw no need to dial can also S-OFF! XP + VMware + alpharev1.8, 0.93.0001 test S-OFF successful ~
Later, I found that the recovery version of the mobile phone has changed to 2.5.1.8. In the forum, many flash tutorials are not for this version. I have sorted out the steps for this version after several flash.

1. First, check whether G7 is s-off on the front line. Close the phone, press the phone's [round-trip key] or [Volume-] key, and then press the phone's [Power key ], if you press the [round-trip key], the fastboot interface will be displayed. If you press the [Volume-] key, the hboot interface will be displayed. Press the power key again to enter the hboot interface, and then directly enter the hboot interface. In this interface, you can see if G7 has been S-OFF. There are also information such as the factory date, hboot version, and radio version.
2. Click volume + or volume-to select a menu item. If you want to fl or partition, You must select the second recovery. After the selection, press the power key on your phone to go to the recovery interface. 3) after the ext partition, press the [Optical Track Ball] to automatically enter the next swap size window. Here is the page for setting the swap partition size, which is generally 32 MB ~ It can be between mb. After selecting the size, press [Optical Track Ball] to determine. After confirmation, we can see that partitioning SD card... please wait... indicates that the partition is in progress. The donel that has been viewed for a long time has been completed!
4) after the EET partition and swap partition are determined, the remaining space of the SD card will be automatically allocated to the partition in the fat format. Ignore it.
5) after you press the [Optical Track Ball], the system will automatically partition and format the partition. At this time, you do not need to perform any operations. wait patiently for the phone to complete the operation. After the phone prompts you to complete the partitioning operation, you just need to press power key, return to the recovery main menu, select reboot system now (restart system), and then press optical track ball to confirm, after the phone is restarted, it enters the desktop, and the partitioning operation is complete.
