Android is currently the most promising operating system in the mobile Internet field. If you are shy or more convenient to experience this operating system, you can install an x86 version through a virtual machine, currently, the latest version is android2.2.1. you can install the system on a virtual hard disk through idea or VMware to enable it frequently.
However, I have encountered a strange problem after installing VMWare, that is, after the installation is successful, the network connection is unavailable in Nat mode (other network modes are still unavailable ), after all, it was hard to solve the problem, so we only used virtualbox for installation. The important thing is that the result was successful and there was no problem with the network. Here we will describe the installation steps through virtualbox, I hope I will be inspired by my colleagues.
First, install the latest virtualbox, because it is free and open-source, so it is also very convenient to download and install, skipped here.
Then download the latest Android x86 version of the image, I use the android-x86-2.2-generic.iso version here.
The detailed operations in virtualbox are as follows:
1) create a new Virtual Machine
Select the other Linux type. The virtual hard disk can be 1 GB, and the network can be used as a bridge (NAT. Shows my settings:
2) Specify the ISO file to run livecd. after starting the virtual machine, select the last item and install it, for example:
Select create partition, that is, create a partition in the virtual hard disk created later. Here I just created a primary partition,
As shown in, use the direction key to select new to create a partition.
As shown above: set the current partition to bootable,
As shown above, select the write item to save the previous operation.
Finally, select the quit item to exit the partitioning process.
3) Select a partition for Installation
Select the ext3 type.
Select Yes or OK for the following options until the installation is successful.
4) Create an SD card
After the installation is successful, the following interface appears:
Enter a size value, for example, 768.
After startup, as shown in:
Congratulations, you have installed it successfully, and the network is also available. In addition to some hardware-dependent functions, such as GPS and WiFi, other functions can be used normally.
Notes:
(1) After the installation is successful, the mouse may be unavailable. Generally, You need to select "prohibit auto exclusive mouse" in the lower right corner of the window.
