Case expressions in Ruby _ruby topics

Ruby's case expressions have two forms:

The first form is close to a set of consecutive if statements: it lets you list a set of conditions and executes the statement that corresponds to the first true conditional expression.

The second form is to specify a target at the top of the case statement, and each when clause lists one or more comparison conditions

As with if, the case returns the value of the last expression executed, and if the expression and the condition are on the same line, it can be distinguished by the then keyword.
