The installation of CentOS 7 is minimized by default, so there are many commands that cannot be used (as seen from other sources on the web). Usually the book or tutorial will let you use the Ifconfig command to see the network IP configuration, but CentOS 7 is not, how to do it, listen to my slow way.

In order to be able to use the Web tool, we need to connect CentOS to the Internet first and then install the Network tool via the Yum install-y net-tools\* command.

Most people learn that CentOS is installed with a virtual machine, so the virtual machine needs to be on the internet before it can be installed online. The CentOS 7 default network card is not used, so we need to modify the NIC configuration file to change the network card to boot state, and then restart the network card configuration program, you can connect the virtual machine to the Internet. The detailed steps are as follows:

1. Ensure that your host can be connected to the Internet, you can open a Web page to try;

2. Set your virtual machine to bridge mode;

3. Use the root login in the CentOS console to modify the/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eno16777736 file with the VI editor, which reads as follows:

The red underlined part was originally Onboot=no, which was modified as shown.

4. After modifying and saving, enter the service network Restart command in the console and reapply the NIC configuration file as shown in:

5. If there is no accident at this time, you can connect with the Internet, you can ping Baidu domain name for testing:

6. Step up to make sure CentOS is connected to the Internet, then enter the Yum install-y net-tools\* command in the console to install the Network tool

7. Wait a moment, the console will prompt installation success, at this time you can enter the Ifconfig command in the console to see the current network adapter configuration:

Where eno16777736 is the configuration of the current physical NIC, and Lo is the loopback loopback network configuration.

This completes the installation of the Network tool.

This process is expected to help you learn CentOS.
