Centos 7.0 changes

As in the first release of each major version, most components have been modified and updated to a newer version. Listing all the changes is beyond the scope of this document. The most significant changes are:

    • kernel update to 3.10.0

    • support for Linux containers

    • instant installation of open VMware Tools and 3D images

    • OpenJDK-7 as the default JDK

    • Upgrade 6.5 to 7.0 (mentioned above)

    • LVM snapshot of ext4 and XFS

    • switch to systemd, firewalld, and grub2

    • XFS as the default file system

    • iSCSI and fcoe in kernel space

    • support for ptpv2

    • support for 40G Ethernet cards

    • supports installation in UEFI safe Boot Mode on compatible hardware
