Java Development Tool IntelliJ IDEA Tutorial: import a project
Using Intellij IDEA for project development, you can not only create a brand new project, but also import projects that are configured and developed using other development tools.
1. Select the source directory
Click File> Import Project and specify the disk location where the Import Project is stored.
You can create a new IntelliJ IDEA project based on the imported project. Projects that can be imported include Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle. You can skip the specific project file and create a new project from the source file.
2. Select the target project
Once the source directory is known, IntelliJ IDEA needs to know whether the user wants to create a new project using a specified location file, or whether IntelliJ IDEA wants to adopt a given project model (namely, Eclipse, Maven, or Gradle) before you can proceed in an automated manner.
Here we choose to create a new project from the source file
3. configure a new project
You need to specify the name and disk location of the new project created based on the source file.
Select the file to import
In this case, no known project model is running. Therefore, the IntelliJ IDEA Wizard takes many steps to find matching models and Android project requirements on the disk.
For example, you should specify whether the gen or src folder is required.
Similarly, you need to confirm that any open-source project imported can be found in the source project.
Finally, you should specify the Java SDK and Android platform required by the new project.
Finally, a new IntelliJ IDEA Project will be created from the existing files and projects after the Wizard is used for the accommodation.
