How to install centOS

Well, if everything is okay, you should see the following picture on the screen after you start the instance with a DVD:

The above picture shows:

1. You can directly press <Enter> to install the graphic interface;
2. You can also enter "linux text" next to boot (indicated by Arrow 4 in the preceding figure) to install the text interface;
3. There are other function menus available: [F1]… [F5.

Note that if you do not press any buttons within 10 seconds, the installer will use the graphical interface by default to start the installation process!

The arrow points in the figure above need to pay attention to a little bit, which is a common function! The meaning is as follows:

• Linux noprobe (Arrow 1 ):Do not perform hardware detection. If you have special hardware, you may be able to use this item to stop hardware detection;
• Linux askmethod (Arrow 2 ):In interactive mode, the installer will ask you. If your hard disk contains Installation media, or you have an Installation server in your environment, you can select this option to fill in the correct network host for Installation;
• Memtest86 (Arrow 3 ):This is interesting! This project will continue reading and writing memory. If you suspect that your memory stability is insufficient, you can use this project to test your memory! Restart after the test is completed!

If you press [F5], the description of the rescue mode will be displayed, as shown in the following figure:

The figure above indicates that if your Linux system cannot be started due to incorrect settings, you can use "linux rescue" to enter the rescue mode.

 

Because we are installing Linux for the first time! Therefore, press <Enter>. The installer starts to detect the hardware and the detection result is displayed on your screen, as shown in the following figure:

If there is no problem during the detection process, you will need to check whether you want to store the media, as shown below:

After the analysis of the DVD, the subsequent installation will not encounter any strange problems.

If no problem exists, press "Test". The analysis process is shown in the following figure:

The final analysis result is as follows. Click OK! Otherwise, you need to download another one.

If you want to Test other CDs, press Test in the following figure! However, we only have one DVD, so we chose "Continue" to enter the installation program!
