In CentOS, yum cannot find a package. How can this problem be solved?

The simplest way to install software on CentOS is to install software through yum. This method solves the problem of package usage (recommended ), however, sometimes the yum search package name shows that no package can be used when a software is installed using yum. The solution is as follows:

Enter sudo rpm-Uvhhttp: // mirrors.sohu.com/fedora-epel/5/ I #/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm on the terminal.

After entering Enter, repeat the yum search package name to find the desired package.
