Install the CentOS minimal version on the VM

Open the virtual machine and select New virtual machine.

Select the typical, next step;

Choose to install the operating system later;

Operating system to choose Linux, version is CentOS;

General default on it, if you want to set the CentOS installation location, you can click to browse, find a place of their own;

The default is OK;

Select Custom Hardware;

Figure, find the CentOS image file, then OK, then click Finish.

Next, open the virtual machine:

Click the ENTER key after selecting the first item;

Select Skip to continue the installation;

Next continues;

Choose English, next continue;

Select U.s.english, select next to continue;

Do not change, continue next;

Select Yes;

Choose Configure network, set the network

Then go back to the previous page and continue next.

Time to choose Shanghai (in fact, is the Times), continue next;

Set the password, next continue;

Select the first item, then continue;

Then, it started to install, because it is the mini version, so very fast.

Reboot;

Type root, enter, and then enter the password, because the input echo is not displayed.

First Ping, OK, can surf the internet. If you have not set up the network before, but directly select the next step, the following configuration can be:

Enter at command line: Vi/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

If the network is not configured, the value of Onboot is no, and change to Yes.

How to change. Click on the keyboard lowercase i, move the cursor to No side, delete, add Yes, then press ESC, and then press the two uppercase Z save, in the command line input reboot restart.

Install the GCC compiler:

Perform yum-y install gcc gcc-c++ kernel-devel, and then it will start downloading and installing automatically.

Input command: yum-y groupinstall "X window System"

Then install Gnome:

Enter command: yum-y groupinstall "Desktop"

Set GNOME to start by default:

Enter command: Vi/etc/inittab

Then move the cursor down to Id:3, the 3 above, press lowercase R, enter 5, and press two uppercase Z to save.

Next, we create a new user (Root has the highest privileges, Gnome does not allow root to log in directly)
