Git address:

https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/

1. Install a bunch of dependencies first

Yum Install Curl Curl-devel zlib-devel openssl-devel perl cpio expat-devel gettext-devel Perl-extutils-makemaker

2. Download the latest git

Switch to the download directory first. I'm used to downloading to the SRC directory

Cd/usr/local/src

wget https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/git-2.4.0.tar.gz

3. Unzip

Tar-xvzf git-2.4.0.tar.gz

4. Compiling the installation

CD git-2.4.0

./configure && make && make install

Last git--version view version
