On the old machine Win7 installed Ubuntu, you can directly use the EASYBCD, no U disk, smooth s loaded.

This time in Win8 can not use EASYBCD, Internet search, found the need to use refind this software.

Installation method:

Install under Windows

    1. Unzip the package after downloading, then right-click on the lower left corner of the desktop to open a command prompt (administrator), run
    2. Mountvol s:/s----Map the EFI system partition to the S-disk
    3. CD go to Refind extract directory
    4. xcopy/e refind S:\EFI\refind\----Copy the Refind folder to the EFI partition, the/e parameter is the copy subdirectory, including the empty directory
    5. S:----Go to the EFI partition
    6. CD \efi\refind\----into the copied refind file directory.
    7. Depending on your system, choose to delete the extra folders under the Refind directory (if x86_64, delete drivers_ia32,tools_ia32,redind_ia32.efi)
    8. Rename refind.conf-sample refind.conf----Rename profile (configuration file contents can be modified according to requirements, I did not change)
    9. Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} path \efi\refind\refind_x64.efi----Set Refind as the default EFI launcher
    10. ----can use Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} description "REFInd description" to modify the description of the startup item (not necessary)

Install under Linux

    1. Cp-r REFIND/BOOT/EFI/EFI----The EFI boot file for Linux is in the/boot/efi/efi directory, copy the Refind folder to that directory
    2. Cd/boot/efi/efi/refind
    3. RM Redind_ia32.efi----Delete 32-bit files
    4. Rename refind.conf-sample refind.conf----Renaming a configuration file
    5. Efibootmgr-c-L \\EFI\\refind\\refind_x64.efi-L refind----Add refind to EFI boot list (boot entry)

After the partition to Linux, install CentOS with u disk, installation method do not repeat.

After installing the CentOS end, there are two general scenarios:

One is directly into the windows, this situation may be the CentOS is not installed (the installation of the EFI folder will appear a Redhat folder, in addition to say, centos6.3 is still 6.4 after the integration of the EFI boot mode), I started this situation, after entering the Windows configuration Refind, boot directly into the Refind interface, but can not find the Linux system options (Refind will automatically search all the EFI files in the boot area)

Second, directly into the CentOS, this situation is configured to restart the system after the Refind or directly into the CentOS, but you can press ESC (My Computer is ESC) to enter the system boot option, you can see the refind boot option, you can switch to Windows after you choose to enter, But it's not convenient.

Finally, no matter in which system, go to the EFI folder, modify Refind under the Refind_x64.efi file named Bootx64.efi, modify the Redhat folder name (random, you can remember the line, because the system startup will be found by default redhat/ Grub.efi start CentOS, modify the folder after the system will not find this file and then to find the Bootx64.efi file, the principle is not clear, but can be used)

Restart again and you'll see the Refind interface.
