Installing CentOS from VMware under WinXP

Recently to learn Linux, want to install a CentOS virtual machine, the original system for windowsxp.

First download VMware address as VMware32 bit

Next Download CentOS, originally under is the newest centOS7, but found not install, should be VMWARE10 also not support the latest version of CentOS, also under a Redhat Enterprise Linux 7, also can not use, finally under the CentOS 6.6 version. The address is centOS6.6.

Install VMware below, the process will not say that the installation software is the same.

The problem to be aware of is that the installation of CentOS 7 in VMware10 is not recognized, online some say select "Install the operating system later", and then after the creation of the virtual machine "mobile device" DVD/CD (IDE) settings, and then select the ISO file you downloaded. But I tried, whether it is centOS7 or Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 is not installed, point the install CentOS 7 will be black screen, and then no response. Because my system is XP, can not install the latest version of the VMware 11, so did not try. Therefore, if it is VMware 10, it is best to install CentOS 6, pro-Test available.

Once you have created the virtual machine, click Power to open the client. And then it's just like installing CentOS on a regular.
