Installing CentOS under Windows7

Part I: Preparation before installation
1. Prepare two FAT32 format partitions, one for the CentOS disc image and related installers, and one for CentOS (the format of this partition will be changed during installation). Note Install the CentOS partition Gecheng primary partition


2. Copy the CentOS DVD image to the FAT32 partition root and remove the images folder from the mirror and place it in the root directory of the FAT32 partition.
3. Download and install the software EASYBCD, the EasyBCD2.0.2 version is used here

4. Run EASYBCD Set Startup item
a). Run EASYBCD, click "Add New Entry", click "Neogrub", and then click "Install"

b) When you click OK, the original Install button becomes the Remove button

c) Click "Edit Boot Menu" and click "Save Settings"
D) Close the software

Part two : loading a temporary kernel program
5. Restart the computer, select "Neogrub Bootloader" in the Boot entry screen
6. Enter the GRUB boot interface
A) Enter command root (hd0,x) to locate the partition where the CentOS disc image is located, where X is the partition number, here is 4. Input command LS, confirm. If you find a partition that is not the disc image, use the root (hd0,x) command to re-locate it and confirm it with the LS command.

b) load the temporary kernel file under the Images folder and enter the command in turn
Kernel/images/pxeboot/vmlinuz
Initrd/imag/pexboot/initrd.img

c) Run the command boot to start the temporary kernel program

7. Continue setting in the temporary kernel
a). In the "Choose a Language" interface that appears, select "Chinese (Simplified)"
b) In the "Language unavailable" interface that appears, press ENTER to continue
c) in the "Keyboard Type" interface that appears, select "Us", which is the default option
D) in the "Installation Method" screen that appears, select " Hard Drive"
e) in the "Select Partition" interface that appears, select the partition on which the CentOS disc image is located (typically the X value of the root (hd0,x) command you just entered is added 1, or x+1). Choose the wrong matter, you can go back to the "Installation Method" interface, re-select
Part III: Image Installation Interface
8. Continue the installation at the start of the graphical installation
A) Click "Next" in the Installation Start screen
b). In "What kind of device will your installation use?" "Interface, select" Basic storage Device "

c) in the "Please name this computer" screen, keep the default settings, directly click on "Next"
D) In the "Please select the nearest city" interface, remove the "system clock using UTC time (S)" checkbox in the lower left corner. Other settings are not changed, click "Next"
e) in the "root account is used to manage the system" interface, enter the root user's password
f) In the "What kind of installation do you want?" "Interface, select" Create a custom layout "

g) Enter the "Please select Source Drive" Interface

h) Select the partition where you want to install CentOS and click the "Delete" button. and delete it in the "Confirm Delete" interface that appears
i) Select the section that has just been deleted and click "New". In the Build storage interface, select Standard Partition and click Create

j) in the "Add Partition Interface"
Mount Point (M), select "/"
File system type (T), select "Ext4"
Other size options, select "Use all Spaces"
Click the "Force Primary partition" Radio box


k) Go back to the "Please select Source Drive" interface, where you have already prepared partitions for the installation of CentOS

l) The "Partition Warning" interface appears, as a desktop Linux system, can not allocate swap partitions, etc., can be added when used. Click "Yes" button to continue

m) in the "Write storage configuration to Disk" interface, select "Write modifications to disk (W)"

N) in the Install Bootloader interface, select "Replace Device" and in the "Boot loader Device" interface that appears, select "Boot partition first sector-/dev/sda3", that is, install the CentOS partition, and then click OK. Other settings are the same

o) in the "CentOS default installation is minimal Installation" screen, select "Minimal Desktop" and click "Next". 29. The required software is installed on the system and then installed via Yum

p) Automatic installation

q) on the Installation Completion screen, click "Reboot"

9. Restart the computer and select Enter WINDOW7

10. Run EASYBCD Set Startup item
A) Run EASYBCD, click "Add New Entry", click "Linux/bsd", Name set to Centos,device select Partition 2 (LINUX-19GIB), which is the partition where CentOS is installed. Then click "Add Entry"

b) Click "Edit Boot Menu" To select the previous "Neogrub Bootloader" and then click "Delete" to delete it. Then click "Save Settings". Set up a good effect

c) Close the software

Part five : setting up for the first time in CentOS
11. Restart the computer and enter the CentOS

A) in the "Welcome" screen, click "Forward (F)"

b) in the "License Information" screen, select "Yes, I agree to the license Agreement (Y)"

c) In the "Create User" interface, set the user name, password and other information, click "Forward (F)"
D) in the "Date and Time" screen, click "Forward (F)"

e) in the "Kdump" interface, it is not optional because it is installed in a virtual machine and does not have a swap partition set. In the actual installation, as a desktop use of CentOS also does not need to enable kdump this feature, so in the actual installation also remove the "Enable Kdump (E)" check box. Click "Finish".

14. First login system, click on the user, enter the password login can. If you want to enter the root user, click "Other", type the user name: root, and its password.


15. Enter the system, complete O (∩_∩) o haha ~
