First, preface
As a program that wants to engage in the background development of Java EE, how can the Linux system not learn? So, these days, I'm going to learn about the Linux operating system. Nonsense not much to say, straight to the subject.
To learn Linux development, first of all have to install the Linux system, here I also quite confused before the choice, because there are too many Linux systems to choose, such as the most famous redhat, we Chinese developed Red Flag Linux, ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS and so on, Finally, after consulting the predecessors, chose to install the CentOS system.
Ii. introduction of CentOS
CentOS (Community ENTerprise Operating System) is one of the Linux distributions and is compiled from Red Hat ENTerprise Linux based on source code released under open source rules. Because of the same source code, some servers that require a high degree of stability are used with CentOS instead of the commercial version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The difference between the two is that CentOS does not contain closed source code software.
Changes to some of the important packages in RHEL 6.4:1. Finally added haproxy.2. Introduce SAMBA4 as a technology preview to upgrade samba at the same time. 3. Added keepalived (no need to find it in Epel). 4.SYSTEMTAP upgrade to 1.8 5. Added lscpu and chcpu for CPU operation. 6. New plus scipy 7. Upgrade Valgrind embed gdbserver.8. New Libjpeg-turbo,redhat-lsb-core upgrade Createrepo. (I'm just getting started, I don't know if it's too much to use)
I downloaded the latest version of the CentOS6.4 64-bit system now that I have the most recent edition.
As follows:
32-bit: http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/6/isos/i386/
64-bit: isoredirect.centos.org/centos/6/isos/x86_64/
Third, CentOS installation
Because just contact with Linux system, God Horse has to learn from the beginning, so I chose to install in the virtual machine, with the virtual machine version is the VMware Workstation7.1, operating system is Win7 flagship version SP1.
We will get two ISO image files after download. One is Centos-6.4-x86_64-bin-dvd1.iso (this is the CentOS image file we need to install) and the other is Centos-6.4-x86_64-bin-dvd2.iso (this is some of the CentOS packages, Many common software, plugins are in the inside).
Open the installed VMware, select File-new-virtual Machine,
Choose Custom,next here:
Select workstation6.5-7.x, Next:
Choose the third item here, install it later, and make it easy to configure . Select I'll install the operating system Later, next:
Choose Linux, version here to choose CentOS, because it is 64-bit, so do not choose Centos-32bit,next:
Image file storage path selection, here Enter the virtual machine name and installation path (because a CentOS64 bit has been installed, so the name is shown here is (2), the name can be changed), Next:
Select the number of CPU cores allocated to the virtual machine, and VMware will warn you if the number of CPUs selected for the virtual machine exceeds the actual number of native CPUs. Next:
Virtual memory allocation, generally choose the default 1024MB on the line, Next:
Here is the network type assignment, the network type allocation divides into three kinds, bridge, nat and host-only, the approximate difference is
1 BRIDGE: Equivalent to the host and virtual machine connected to the same hub, virtual machines and hosts configured on the same network segment
2 NAT: Using VMNET8, the host to open the necessary VMware services, such as Vmvare DHCP, virtual machine set to DHCP mode, of course, can also be manually set to vmnet1 the same network segment, more trouble
3 host-only: Use Vmnet1, direct and host interconnect, can use Ifconfig to view the configuration situation
Choose Nat,next here:
Select the IO controller type, select the default, Next:
Select the virtual hard disk type, here to create a, next:
Select the type of disk you want to create, select the default, Next:
Choose disk space size, default, or change according to your computer device
Set the virtual image file name, default, Next:
Create complete, confirm virtual machine information, click Finish.
Next, on the virtual machine that you just created on VMware, right-click the settings
Click "CD/DVD (IDE)" To open the virtual Machine Disc Settings page, click "Use ISO image File" and click "Browse" to select the image ISO file to install. Is the Centos-6.4-x86_64-bin-dvd1.iso file that you just downloaded
Then click "Power on" to start the virtual machine.
Select the second item to install ( Direct carriage return ), the specific meaning:
- Install or upgrade an existing system
- Installing the system with a basic graphics driver
- Enter System Repair mode
- Hard Drive Boot
Select the second one here, then enter to start the installation
Check the disc, choose Skip to
Select the installation language, here to choose English
Select the keyboard, select us, Next
Select Default, Next
Here is the format of the virtual disk just set, you can choose "Reinitialize all", other files will not be lost
Select time Zone, default
Enter the password, next:
Then appear
here Choose Desktop, will install the desktop version, after the installation of a graphical interface, if you choose Minimal, it is the smallest installation option is now custom , add some necessary components, note If you choose to customize later, the virtual machine may not be able to network because of the missing components, Although later can be set, but for a rookie like me, want to configure a bit of trouble, so choose to customize, add some necessary components.
Perl is required, otherwise you cannot install VMware Tools, system managerment tools, network Tools required, otherwise you cannot surf the internet, other choices ... I am the default full-installed ...
At last... Finally done!!!
This is the whole CentOS6.4 installation process!!!!
