Maxima on Android: lets you experience algebraic computing on the Android platform

Maxima, one of the oldest computer algebra systems (CAS), was transplanted to the Android platform by Tian Kan (Yasuaki Honda) in 2012. It can be used for symbolic calculation and numerical calculation, such as solving polynomial root, limit, differential, integral, ordinary differential equation and so on.

As one of the oldest CAs, Maxima history can be traced back to the Doe-macsyma 40 years ago. Since 1998 was allowed to issue the GPL, the development has been more rapid.

Maxima is written mainly by Common Lisp. The success of the 2012 ECL transplant enabled the Android platform to have a reliable common Lisp implementation, making it possible to transplant maxima.

Shortly thereafter Kang was about to Maxima transplanted to the Android platform, which has now been updated to version 1.9 (2013-09-01), containing Maxima 5.30.0
