Update information:Microsoft found a problem in the final internal version of SP4. If you enable the AWE Support feature when running SQL Server, it will be affected. This issue has no impact on the ia64 platform. On x86 and x64 systems, this issue affects only users who have enabled AWE and occupied more than 2 GB of memory (applicable only to Enterprise, Developer, and Evaluation versions ); more than half of the system's total memory is allocated to a single SQL Server instance.Users with this configuration should obtain and apply the patch specified in Article 899761 of the Microsoft Knowledge Base after upgrading to SP4.SP4 is a cumulative Service Pack that contains all patches in previous Service Pack versions, including MS03-031 security bulletins.SP4 contains the following SQL Server 2000 package:

    • Update the application that uses the Merge Module

Important:Windows NT 4.0, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows 98 do not support SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
