ORA-01940: cannot drop a user that is currently connecte

When we delete a user, if the user to be deleted is currently connected to the Oracle database, an error is returned:

SQL> conn/as sysdba
Connected.

SQL> drop user fc cascade;
Drop user fc cascade
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01940: cannot drop a user that is currently connected.

Check the current session information of the user to be deleted in the v $ session view, and kill the session connection of the User:

SQL> select sid, serial # from v $ session where username = 'fc ';
Sid serial #

SQL> alter system kill session '1234569 ';
System altered.

Then, execute the drop user operation:

SQL> drop user fc cascade;
User dropped.
