1. Define the access key for the menu

The access key allows the System user to use the keyboard to operate the commands in the menu.
To add an access key to a menu, add "(<F)" after the menu name during the menu editing process. Note that "F" is required.

2. Define shortcuts and add prompt information for the menu commands

Shortcut Keys can improve the menu function and speed up system operations. The prompt information allows the System user to learn about the menu function more quickly.
To define a menu item, you can click the button under "options" during the menu editing process to bring up a dialog box, and press the key to be defined at the prompt. To add the prompt information, enter the information to be prompted in the "Information (G):" box on the right and use string quotation marks.

3. Mark the option or remove the "√" mark.

Mrkbar () is a function used to determine whether a menu is marked. If the selected return value is true, otherwise it is false. Use the setmarkof command to add or remove the menu items.
For example, you can add the following command to the menu or remove the "√" mark:

4. Add a separator to the menu

The separator line enhances the readability of the menu. To add a separator line, you only need to add the "-" symbol to the "menu name" item during the menu editing process.

5. Temporarily invalidate and restore a menu title or option

When running a program, you sometimes need to temporarily invalidate a menu and restore it after it expires. There are two implementation methods:

(1) Use the setskipof command
For example, the command to temporarily invalidate the title of the "file" menu is:
Setskipofpopup file f. t.

The recovery command is:
Setskipofpopup file f. f.

To temporarily invalidate the second item under "file", the command is:
Setskipofbar2of file f. t.
The recovery command is:
Setskipofbar2of file f. f.

(2) run the releasepopup command.
