Solve yum lock in centos
Http://www.cnblogs.com/tippoint/archive/2010/09/19/1831126.html
A bunch of errors were reported during yum install under centos5.5, as shown below:
Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...
The other application is: yum
Memory: 38 m rss (37 mb vsz)
Started: Sta Jul 24 16:28:58 2010-1:37:07 ago
State: Sleeping, pid: 13020
It seems that a process is executing yum, so it adopts the conventional processing method.
1. Logout: The result is invalid.
2. Restart: Invalid
3. VM restart: Invalid or not
This is really strange. It seems that linux and windows are different, so I checked some information and found that there was still this process during system initialization.
Solution:
Rm-f/var/run/yum. pid
/Sbin/service yum-updatesd restart
Stopping yum-updatesd: [OK]
Starting yum-updatesd: [OK]
In addition, it is said that/sbin/service yum-updatesd stop is not used because update is disabled but the process still exists when the system is started.
