There is an old notebook in the house, think of it and put it there idle, not as a study machine for Linux.

The CentOS Mirror CENTOS-6.4-I386-BIN-DVD1 and CENTOS-6.4-I386-BIN-DVD2 are downloaded from the Internet and are intended to be installed using a hard disk installation method. Hard disk size 80G, repartition it, 1th primary partition size 25G (c disk, Fat32, installed Windows XP system), 2nd partition size 15G (d disk, Fat32), the remaining 40G of disk space do not do processing, wait for subsequent installation time again division. Put the two CentOS mirrored files on the D disk (must be FAT32 format). ), using WinRAR compression software to extract the images and Isolinux folders in the CENTOS-6.4-I386-BIN-DVD1 into the D-packing directory. Download grub4dos on the Internet, all the files (15 files or so) extracted to the C-packing directory (because C disk is the primary partition, do not extract to other disks.) , open menu.lst, and add the following statement at the end:
Title CentOS
Root (hd0,4)//Because the mirrored files are all in D, so this is 4
Kernel/isolinux/vmlinuz
Initrd/isolinux/initrd.img
Boot modify system boot parameters: My Computer right key-> Properties-> advanced-> Boot and Recovery settings-> system startup Edit-> Add Boot.ini "c:\grldr=" at the end of the open CentOS file. Restart the computer, there will be two options in the startup option, one is Windows XP (may be different from your name), the other is CentOS, we choose CentOS. In the multiple options that appear, select the last CentOS to install the system, and if not, go to the CentOS graphical installation interface. Because my notebook is older, in the upcoming CentOS graphics installation interface, the monitor black screen, nothing, through the query data, found to be the following causes: APM (Advanced Power Management) is an early source management module, ACPI ( Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) is the most recent source management module. Both are supported by the hardware itself, but laptops may not be using these mechanisms, so starting these mechanisms when installed can cause some errors that can not be successfully installed. NOFB is to cancel the buffer memory monitoring above the video card. Because the graphics card of a notebook computer is often molded, the Linux installer itself may not be able to detect the graphics module very well.             Joining NOFB at this point will probably make your installation process a little smoother. -------------as quoted in "Brother Bird's Linux private dish-Basic Study (third edition)" P100

The solution is to change to the following statement at the end of the menu.lst (note the red part):

Title CentOS
Root (hd0,4)
Kernel/isolinux/vmlinuz linux nofb apm=off acpi=off pci=noacpi
Initrd/isolinux/initrd.img
Boot

The red section above is the key, and if you want to install it by text, add ": Linux text" After the last boot

Title CentOS
Root (hd0,4)
Kernel/isolinux/vmlinuz linux nofb apm=off acpi=off pci=noacpi
Initrd/isolinux/initrd.img
Boot:linux text

That is, it is installed by means of text,
