Linux x86-64 Asianux 3
Supported virtualization software
Oracle VM
Oracle VM Server for x86
In fact, it is still necessary for TimesTen to support virtualization. As the application layer cache, TimesTen should be classified into the middleware category. Some user middle layers are all virtualized. At this time, TimesTen is applicable to VMware, the support for Xen and Hyper-V is important. However, Oracle adheres to the same policy for Oracle databases, that is, it does not support hypervisor except OVM ,:(
I ran TimesTen on Workstation and VirtualBox, and there was no problem at all, and the test was faster than the HP blade ,:)
Supported Middleware
Here we only talk about Oracle's middleware ODI and GoldenGate.
GoldenGate supports TimesTen as the target, that is, it can load data from other databases to TimesTen. In this case, TimesTen is used as the integration point, but not vice versa.
Similarly, ODI can load data from databases that support SQL-92 standards to TimesTen.
TimesTen is a typical usage of Data integration points in Exalytics as aggregation and Data Mart in memory.
As TimesTen Replication Using GoldenGate: Sample Configuration (Doc ID 1099523.1) says:
GoldenGate now provides the ability to pass data from Oracle to TimesTen. at this time, the only possible configuration is a Master: Subscriber format from Oracle to TimesTen where data and transactions on that data can be replicated from an Oracle database to a TimesTen database; it is presently not possible to replicate data from TimesTen to Oracle.
Supported cluster Software
Only ClusterWare of Oracle is supported. The versions include 11.2.0.2, 11.2.0.3, and 11.2.0.4.
ClusterWare is very important for building a TimesTen cluster!
Supported Oracle databases
TimesTen supports caching the following databases:
Oracle Database 12.1.0.2.0
Oracle Database 12.1.0.1.0
Oracle Database 11.2.0.4.0
Oracle Database 11.2.0.3.0
Oracle Database 11.2.0.2.0
Oracle Database 11.1.0.7.0
Oracle Database 10.2.0.5.0
Not all versions here support all databases, for example for X86-64 RHEL 6, only Versions later than 11.2.0.3 are supported.
