1. Introduction
The development environment for building android on Ubuntu is similar to that for Windows. It is also required to install the JDK, eclipse and its plug-in ADT, And the android SDK.
2. Install JDK
The first is to download the JDK installation package in Linux environment,: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u31-download-1501634.html. It is worth noting that you should select a proper version. Do not select another system.
If it goes well, you will get a file named jdk-xxxx.bin. Put this file in the/usr/lib/JVM/directory. No JVM directory? Create it by yourself. Installation command:
sudo chmod +x jdk-xxxx.binsudo ./jdk-xxxx.bin
After entering enter on the terminal, the installation is complete. A directory named jdkxxx is generated under the/usr/lib/JVM directory.
The next step is to configure the environment. Open/etc/environment in the editor. Input:
PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.6.0_30/bin"CLASSPATH=.://usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.6.0_30/libJAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.6.0_30
Run source/etc/environment on the terminal or log on again. The test method is to enter Java-version on the terminal.
3. Install eclipse
Download the appropriate eclipse version from the http://www.eclipse.org/downloads. After decompression, you can use it directly.
4. ADT Installation
ADT is actually an Eclipse plug-in for Android development. Its full name is Android development tools. After eclipse is started, click eclipse ---> help ---> install new software ---> Add, The add repository dialog box appears, enter the URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ or http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ in the location column, you can obtain the Developer Tools installation package. Name depends on what it is. Select developer tools in the available software window. Then click Next to install.
5. SDK Installation
Follow the steps above to install the ADT successfully. A window will pop up prompting you to install the android SDK.
You can choose to install online or download the android SDK in http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html. Select "use existing sdks" to find the SDK you downloaded.
If your eclipse does not have such a prompt, you can click eclipse ---> window ---> preferences, select "android" on the left, and select the SDK location as the android SDK decompression location. Then the application is OK.
