Oracle XE is an Express quick version of the Oracle database family. It is free of charge and has a maximum database size of 4 GB (excluding nearly 1 GB space occupied by the system space). The memory limit is 1 GB ,, the CPU limit is 1, mainly for developers and small database applications.

1. Install the 32-bit C Language Library:

3. Force install Oracle XE and the required asynchronous IO library on the 64-bit platform:
Dpkg-I -- force-architecture libaio_0.3.104-1_i386.deb
Dpkg-I -- force-architecture oracle-xe-universal_10.2.0.1-1.1_i386.deb
During installation, the system will prompt that at least MB of swap space is required. ubuntuone.cn however, if your memory is 2 GB, it can be safely ignored.

4. Configure Oracle XE:
Sudo/etc/init. d/oracle-xe configure
Do not change the default value. I found that if the http port is not set to 8080, it will not work. So far, after Oracle XE is installed, we will start to install APEX 3.1.1.
