VirtualBox Installing the CentOS virtual machine

Start to contact Linux, because my proud of the computer can not be installed on the dual system, so have to install virtual machine, or, save the switch back and forth, the following is the process.

STEP1:

The current version of CentOS (Community Enterprise Operating System) is now in Centos7, and CentOS was released on the Red Hat as, just CentOS Does not contain closed source code software. Download

and choose VirtualBox, also because it is open-source virtual machine software. Download

STEP2:

Since the installation of the VirtualBox process is simple, there is no need to be aware of it, so this will skip directly below and start installing the virtual machine.

Open VirtualBox

Select New (here, the red Hat64 bit is automatically selected when entering CentOS)

The next step is to select system memory, too big to use

Select New VDI virtual hard disk

Select a fixed size

This step can choose to set up the hard disk on another disk, because the default is in the system disk, if your system disk is large enough, you can choose the default, I built it on the D-disk, to see a person's preferences.

Set startup item after creation, select the CentOS image file downloaded on the website

Note here that the first item is to install CentOS directly, and the second is to detect the installation package before installing

Select the First Direct installation

Choose the language, here is English

Here to choose the time zone, keyboard input, the software that needs to be installed, and the location to install

The time zone is self-determined, I choose Chongqing here.

Next is the software that needs to be installed, a CentOS installation package of nearly 4 G, but the system is far less large after installation, this is because the installation package also contains a lot of open source software, in the system to choose, the default minimal install is the simplest way to install, even the desktop is useless , there are many options, depending on the requirements of the choice, I chose to install the GNOME desktop, then you can choose the software I need, Office, Internet applications (among them firefox,email,msn,,)

After the selection, done

Then select the installation location, where you select your own partition

Divide the hard disk into swap (swap partition),/(root partition)

Before the swap partition is twice times the memory, but now the general 4G is enough, more meaningless

But this is only divided into two districts, I do not know why not allowed, so added a/boot partition

This will create a user and a password and a root password.

Or simply choose to create a root password, and the username becomes root when you log in
But it is not recommended, because the root authority is too large, improper operation, the system was you broke 、、、 it is tragic 、、、
