1. If you have checked the information on the Internet, you will find that Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 and Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 have different xmanager configurations, the former does not have the directory/etc/X11/TPD/, and its configuration file for the latter is stored in/usr/share/TPD/custom. conf.
In fact, I wrote an error online !! This is not custom. conf, But defaults. conf! My Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.4 is like this. Maybe the other 5 Series versions are not the same.
Make sure that the following statements are configured in/usr/share/TPD/defaults. conf (I added these statements directly at the end ):
Enable =TrUE
Displaysperhost = 10
Port = 177
2. Change the default level to 5 in/etc/inittab:

3. log on to xmanager as the root user
After the preceding modification, the root user cannot remotely log on to Linux Through xmanager. He must modify the/usr/share/TPD/defaults. conf file and enable the following in the [Security] field:
Allowroot = true
Allowremoteroot = true
I found that allowremoteroot can be disabled. Check whether my configuration is Fa.LsE, for example:
4. Enable the 177 UDP port of the Linux firewall.
Xmanager uses UDP port 177 to connect to the target instance. Therefore, you must open this port on the firewall, for example:
Restart the system. In this way, you are done! Run the xbrowser program in xmanager3 on Windows, create an xmanager session in it, and enter the IP address in the host. Do not change other configurations (including the port number) and exit.
Double-click the new xmanager session to enter the logon interface. after entering the user name and password, you can log on to the Remote Desktop in Linux.

View the IP address. Sometimes the connection fails because the IP address configured in your hosts file is incorrect.

PS: This is only intended for those who are not used to using command lines. Some servers do not have a graphical interface. In this case, this configuration is unnecessary.
