Software that helps build Amazon EC2 cloud platforms will be submitted to Apache Software Foundation to speed up the development process, Jie said today.
Since July 2011, cloud.com acquisition of the Cloudstack has gradually become a mixture of open source code and proprietary software. It has now become a "fully open-source Apache Project", released today with Apache 2.0 licenses, and increased financial sponsorship and engineering support for Apache Foundation.
Cloudstack can be used to integrate virtualized resources into similar EC2 network architectures, which can be provided by public or private providers (depending on the service object). Cloudstack is compatible with Amazon API interface, allowing load compatibility across Cloudstack and Amazon platforms.
A few days ago, Jie a preview of its first cloudstack (Citrix cloudstack 3), which adds support for Hyper-V and VMware vsphere and KVM, There is also an optimized version specifically for the XenServer itself (Hyper-V support has not been added to the queue).
Jie also said today that it would "launch a distribution version of Apache Cloudstack business Support," but the company did not provide a specific timetable.
