An error has occurred.-No valid devices were found is prompted when centos is installed.
When you create a partition in a Linux instance running vmware-server, the following message is displayed:
An error has occurred.-No valid devices werefound on which to create new file systems please check your hardware for thecause of this problem.
Solution:
Select custom when creating a VM and then select IDE (SCSI by default) when selecting a hard disk. The reason is that SCSI needs a driver to read the hard disk normally.
Select "Custom" --> next --> Virtual Machine format default --> next ----> select the system you want to install (I installed centos, if this item does not exist in Linux, select other Linux) ----> next ---> define the name and location of the virtual machine to be installed ----> next ---> default processor ---> next ----> set virtual memory ----> next ----> default network type ---> next ----> I/O adapter default ---> next -----> disk default ----> next ----> Virtual Disk Type (this is the key) to select ide ----> next ----> disk capacity (set as needed), do not select "allocate all disk space now" or "file split into 2 GB" ----> next ----> finish
