Compile and install the stable version gvim Vim 7.3 In ubuntu

The official version of vim7.3 has been released. The Vim version installed with APT-Get In ubuntu 10.10 Is 7.2. If you want to experience the new feature of 7.3, you can only compile it by yourself. The Installation notes are as follows:

1. Install the Terminal Library: sudo apt-Get install libncurses5-dev
2. Download the vim source code. Open the download page of www.vim.org and select the Unix source code to download.
3. decompress the package with tar-xjf vim73 ** .tar.bz2

4. go to the decompressed vim73 directory and execute. /configure -- enable-multibyte -- With-features = huge -- prefix =/usr, then make vimrcloc =/etc vimruntimedir =/usr/share/Vim/vim73 make = "make-e" and sudo make install.
 
To compile gvim, install GTK and use sudo apt-Get build-dep vim-GTK to install the required files.
Then use./configure -- enable-gnome-check -- With-X-enable-xim -- enable-fontset -- enable-multibyte -- With-features = huge -- prefix =/usr
Make vimrcloc =/etc vimruntimedir =/usr/share/Vim/vim73 make = "make-e"
Sudo make install compilation and installation.
 
When gvim is enabled, the menu bar is garbled.

Cause:
By default, UBUNTU 10.10 sets the Chinese region to zh_cn.utf8, while gvim can recognize the Chinese region as a zh_CN.UTF-8. Therefore, gvim reports an error at startup and cannot load the Chinese menu normally.
Solution:
Edit in Linux ~ /. Vimrc: Edit _ vimrc in the installation directory in Windows
