Connect to the ORACLE database through Tunnels
Suppose there are two servers on the Internet, one is the application server (Linux), the other is the database server (win2003), and the two servers are in the same LAN (the same network segment ), you can access each other through LAN addresses. Now, you can connect to the application server through ssh, instead of remotely logging on to the database server through mstsc to operate the database. We can use the ssh tool (putty) to configure Tunnels to connect to the database. The procedure is as follows:
1. load session (enter the Internet ip address and port of the Application Server)
2. Configure Tunnels
Source port can be written to any port. This port is used to connect Toad to the oracle database.
Destination: the lan ip address of the database server and the port of the oracle database.
After entering the information, press the Add button.
Click "open" and enter the user password of the application server.
3. After successfully logging on to the application server, you can use Toad locally to connect to the database server.
Enter localhost directly, and port enter the previously configured source port
