The world knows that Linux operating systems are often a hodgepodge of software development packages, so our dear Red Flag Linux has integrated the Java development environment for us? This problem, we need to find the answer. I used the method is this, first in the file system to search for Javac program, because to compile Java source code, Javac is certainly indispensable. Open the Command Line window and enter the following command:
Find/-name Javac-print &
The final result is that the file is not found, which means that if Java development is to be done, we have to install the JDK ourselves.
To see if the system has its own JDK, another option is to use the RPM query for JDK packages and JRE software packages, as follows:
Rpm-qa | grep JDK
Rpm-qa | grep JRE
For the first command, no results were exported, further proving that Red Flag Linux did not have its own JDK. The result of the second command output is jre-1.5b2-1, which means that our system can run Java programs, but unfortunately the version is Beta2 version 1.5. Now that 6.0 is out, I certainly won't be using the beta version. But for the sake of the stability of the system, I decided to use the already tested version 1.5. Here is the download address:
