JPPF 3.3.4 released, Java Parallel Processing Framework

PPF 3.3.4 is a maintenance version that includes important bug fixes, including:

• JPPF-157 Improper handling of serialized tasks with a size> 2 GB
• JPPF-160 OOME in the driver upon grouping large results from multiple nodes concurrently
• JPPF-162 OOME: PermGen space in a node after creating reconnections
• JPPF-163 Class loading and configuration issues in JCA connector
• JPPF-164 The property jppf.local.exe cution. enabled not used at client startup

JPPF is an open-source grid computing framework that can run multiple java applications simultaneously in a distributed execution environment. The JPPF framework uses a resource adapter compatible with the JCA 1.5 specifications to integrate with the J2EE application server, which provides the server with access to the original grid service.

Highlights of JPPF

• Provides load balancing, failover, and error recovery services.
• Provides a JMX-Based Management Console that can monitor nodes and manage executed tasks. You can remotely cancel or restart a task, or configure the end date or interval for timeout.

The JPPF framework uses a resource adapter compatible with the JCA 1.5 specifications to integrate with the J2EE application server, which provides the server with access to the original grid service. The adapter avoids the risk of JTA transaction timeout by committing asynchronous tasks.
