Linux trial (1) hard disk installation of Fedora Core 12

At the beginning, ubuntu was installed, and there was no Chinese input method. I had no idea how to install it for a rookie-level character like me after a long time. FC Modification

FC hard disk installation is still relatively easy, mainly referring to a piece of article, very smooth

1. Download the image file Fedora-12-i386-DVD.iso officially released by fedora10, size about 3
GB. Put it in the FAT32 root directory.

2. decompress the files to copy isolinux/initrd. IMG and vmlinuz to the root directory of drive C.

3. Download a grub4dos compressed package, decompress grldr and menu. lst to the C root directory, and modify menu. lst.

Modify menu. lst, and add

Kernel (hd0, 0)/vmlinuz
Initrd (hd0, 0)/initrd. img

4. Modify c: \ Boot. ini.

Add

C: \ grldr = grub

5. Restart grub and select install fedora to go to the installation page.

6. There is a need to select the installation file path, here may need to try which is the drive letter of the Fedora-12-i386-DVD.iso, the path of the image file is/

After loading, I found that many Dongdong products are less useful than Windows, mainly including
-Browsing the folder UI is too difficult to use, which is much worse than Windows Resource Manager.
-Why is the system time incorrect? It seems to be a Time Zone problem? Not done yet

-You cannot play MP3 files... The gstreamer plug-in is required. Depressed, downloaded a http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gstreamer/gstreamer-0.10.30.tar.gz,./configure, make, make install does not seem good ..

 

-The installed grub configuration file is in/boot/GRUB/menu.1st.
