Oracle Intercept string Remove character _oracle specified length at end of field

LENGTHB (String) to calculate the byte length of a string: Returns the length of strings, in bytes

Length (string) to calculate string size: Returns the length of the string, in characters

eg

Remove the 15-bit string at the back of the field
select T.depre_name,
substr (t.depre_name, 0, (Length (t.depre_name)-16))
