database	Oracle 11G R2 ( 11.2.0.1.0 )

Premise: User login attempt password error too many, will cause the user is locked.  

Experiment:

Using PL/SQL Developer to impersonate a Scott user with multiple password input errors will prompt "ORA-28000 Error: User is locked" as follows:

Workaround:

Use DBA The user unlocks it, as follows:

sql> alter user Scott account unlock;

You can log in again, as follows:

About settings:

1 , viewing the value of failed_login_attempts

sql> Select * from Dba_profiles ;

2 , modify the default number of times

sql>Alter ProfiledefaultLimitfailed_login_attempts -;

-- Modify the number of error attempts to - Times

3 , modify the default unrestricted

sql> alter profile default limit Failed_login_attempts unlimited;

-- Password attempt error modified to unlimited number of times
