I had a hard time installing ubuntu 11.10 With a USB flash drive, and I used the Universal-USB-Installer, Unetbootin, and UltralISO software,
It was hard to start a result to show me the screen. I tried to install ubuntu on a USB flash drive in the netbook last night. I searched for it and the problem was solved.
Starting a USB flash drive with ubuntu11.10 made by Universal-USB-Installer, Unetbootin, and UltralISO may fail. This problem also exists in versions 10.10 and 11.04. The reason is that there is a problem with the startup files of these three versions, that is, the syslinux/vesamenu. c32 file. There are two solutions:
1. Modify the syslinux/syslinux. cfg file in the USB flash drive, find default vesamenu. c32, change it to # default vesamenu. c32, and save the modification.
2. Replace vesamenu. c32 with the old version. I am using this method.
Hope to help those who cannot start and install with a USB flash drive
