Tutorial on installation and use of MacPorts in Mac OS

MacPorts is an Open-source project launched by the open source community to facilitate developers under the Shell to compile, install and upgrade software, and to facilitate developers in MAC environments. 1. Download MacPorts

2. Download the PKG package and open the installation

3. Update MacPorts Index

Input:

sudo port-v selfupdate

4.MacPorts of COMMON commands

(1) Search for software in MacPorts index

Port Search NAME

(2) Installation of new software

sudo port install NAME

(3) Uninstall installed software

sudo port uninstall NAME

(4) View the lower version of the software

Port outdated

(5) Upgrade the lower version of the software

sudo port upgrade outdated

Wget is a free tool for automatically downloading files from the network, which supports downloading via HTTP, HTTPS, FTP three most common TCP/IP protocols, and can use HTTP proxies. The origin of the wget name is the combination of "World Wide Web" and "get". Now, you can install wget by MacPorts.

sudo port install wget

Enter command:

Wget

The installation is successful if the following words appear

wget: URL not specified
