Both sides jointly promote the development of Thunderbolt, DisplayPort and dual-mode DisplayPort technology
Agilent technology company announced that its high-speed electronic test solution successfully won the Granite River Labs (GRL) Taipei Laboratory Project, will provide GRL, Thunderbolt and dual-mode DisplayPort conformance and certification testing services , making GRL the first Test lab to test Intel's latest Thunderbolt technology.
Thunderbolt is a revolutionary I/O transfer technology developed by Intel, which transmits data synchronously at up to 10Gbps in two channels. At present, the electronics industry has a number of leading manufacturers of host products have been equipped with Thunderbolt high-speed bus, other equipment manufacturers have begun to adopt Thunderbolt technology. Therefore, starting from the second half of this year, all equipment and hosts equipped with Thunderbolt bus are required to pass the certification test performed by authorized testing agencies.
With the increasingly complex design of electronic equipment, testing agencies and design engineers must rely on the right tools to test electronic design to ensure that it meets industry standards. GRL, as the DisplayPort and Serial ATA Authorized Testing Center, has extensive and complete testing experience to provide testing services for HDMI, MHL, PCI Express Gen3, USB 3.0, DDR, and 10G Ethernet, among other electronic technologies. GRL is currently working with Thunderbolt early adopters to develop related services.
GRL Chief engineer Mike Engbretson said: "We are delighted that our Taipei laboratory can use the Agilent Thunderbolt test solution for advanced certification testing." Agilent provides a complete Thunderbolt physical layer test solution that can perform transmitters, receivers, and echo loss tests on the 10.3125gb/s TBT link, as well as perform DisplayPort 1.2 (rate up to 2.7gb/ s) and dual-mode DisplayPort signal source testing, such as downstream display test. ”
"We are happy to work with GRL to promote the development of Thunderbolt, DisplayPort and dual-mode DisplayPort," said Zhang Zhiming, general manager of the Taiwan Agilent Technology Electronic Measurement division. We are confident that Agilent's complete test solution can assist customers in all industries to ensure product quality and achieve a listing target. ”
Engineers and test agencies need to use Agilent Infiniium 90000 x series 33-ghz oscilloscope, J-bert n4903b high-performance serial BERT, e5071c 20GHz ENA, 81160A pulses/ Code generator and n5990a test automation software platform for high performance testing of 10Gbps high-speed data transmission on Thunderbolt bus.
The Agilent Thunderbolt test solution uses the Agilent infiniium oscilloscope. The oscilloscope provides the deepest global capacity acquisition memory, as well as the world's first Infiniiscan plus hardware and software integrated trigger system. The Agilent Infiniium series is designed to provide engineers with excellent signal integrity, in-depth application analysis, and more subtle design insights.
