It is well known that active participation in all types of training and certification is a significant feature of IT professionals. And in the 2012, is that technology going to be hot? There's no question about Hadoop. As open source data management software, Apache Hadoop is primarily used to analyze a large number of structured and unstructured data in a distributed environment. Hadoop has been used in many popular websites, including Yahoo, facebook, linkedin and ebay.

The Hadoop tide is gradually sweeping across all of America's vertical industries, including finance, media, retailing, energy, and pharmaceuticals. Hadoop, while building up the concept of large data, also carries out real-time analysis of massive data, and finds the trend from the analysis to improve the profitability of the enterprise.

IT Pros are interested in some Hadoop development and management training courses and certifications. At the same time, IT managers, such as CIOs or CTO, can also benefit from large data-related courses. including Cloudera, Hortonworks, IBM, MAPR, and Informatica provide relevant Hadoop training. Headquartered in California, a company offers four Hadoop-related courses for different audiences (programmers, database analysts, system administrators, and IT managers).

Charles Zedlewski, vice president of Cloudera products, says Hadoop is affecting more and more industries. Cloudera has been providing Hadoop services for three years and has also been a powerful complement to its own enterprise-class Hadoop software. In the past few months, the talent trained through Cloudera Hadoop has been extremely sought-after. Participants in the first quarter of 2012 were expected to grow 4 times times more than in the first quarter of 2011.

"The company is also trying to hire Hadoop talent, and our Hadoop training has been around for a while," said Sarah Sproehnle, director of Cloudera Training services. We incorporate best practices into our curriculum, which drives us to accelerate the rapid growth of Hadoop practitioners. Our certified practitioners are also welcomed by many businesses, who are responsible for managing PB-level data in the enterprise. Cloudera's Hadoop training lasted 4 days, costing about 2000 dollars.

In fact, Cloudera's training programme was snapped at the third annual Hadoop Global Conference (nearly 2000 people attended) last November in New York. Over the past three years, Cloudera has trained over 10,000 technical practitioners. Cloudera plans to retrain 10,000 at the end of 2012.

Hortonworks also introduced the Hadoop training program, known as Hortonworks University, in February, and provided standard courses and certifications for IT professionals. Hortonworks's Hadoop certification is divided into developer certification and administrator authentication. The Hadoop Developer Certification training takes 4 days and costs about 2500 dollars. The Hadoop administrator training takes two days and costs about 1400 dollars.

"We see a doubling of the need for the relevant Hadoop training, and companies are beginning to refine the information they collect (customer information, transaction information), and companies are scrambling to find ways to cut costs." "Bob Mahan, senior director of Hortonworks Global Services, said.

Relevant Hadoop development training requires a trained person to have Java programming experience, while for Hadoop management training it requires the trainer to have Linux or UNIX management experience. IT staff are scrambling to participate in the Hadoop certification training simply to get higher pay. According to Mahan, half of the world's data will be processed by Hadoop over the next 3-5 years.

IBM, for its new initiative, has called for undergraduate and graduate students to begin training in college, with the aim of reaching out to big data concepts and Hadoop during their college days. The IBM initiative has attracted 14000 students since last October. IBM offers six online courses that cover the context of Hadoop basics. IBM said that among the large registered population, about 10% students completed the relevant accreditation within 5 months.

At the same time, MIT requires computer-science students to build programs using Hadoop mapreduce. And the UC Berkeley is working on the field of data science with Hadoop.

"The state of Hadoop today reminds me of 1995 years of Java," said Charles Zedlewski, vice president of Cloudera products. (Li/compiling)
