Recent news, according to foreign media reports, security manufacturer Check Point chief executive Gil Shwed recently warned companies not to rush to use cloud computing, because the technology has its inherent risks. Shwed said the fact that sharing data with others is a huge security risk, "If I let the data on my server, at least I think I can protect the data, but like hundreds of servers in cloud computing, there is a vulnerability in one application that allows the virus to propagate to other servers." Also likely to pose a security risk is a vulnerability or an incorrect configuration. "However, Shwed does not want to discourage people from turning to cloud computing," he said. "I am a staunch supporter of cloud computing, but I don't think it will completely replace conventional computing, which only has some markets." Companies want to be able to control the data, unless there are other compelling reasons to accept cloud computing. "While smartphones are a hot topic recently, such as the iphone and its related security concerns, Shwed believes the security industry has yet to see evidence of opportunities to enter the industry." He believes that the mobile Internet is becoming more and more recognized, but it has not brought anyone huge income. Shwed also expresses the enterprise in the Data Loss Protection (DLP) aspect faces the key problem. He points out that while data loss can often be attributed to factors, technology can play an important role in solving this problem. He also hinted that Check point might introduce a product to solve the problem by the end of the year.
