CSDN: What attracts you to delve into Container (Docker) technology?
Guiyang: Docker in the past year has been developing in full swing, its impact on the software industry is also in the ascendant. In the major aspect of software development-development, testing and release-many industry experts are discussing the changes brought about by Docker, and many tools have been created. Although the current Docker in some places still have problems, but we should see Docker advantages and Docker community flourish. It can be believed that in the coming year Docker will become more reliable and safer, and the Docker Biosphere will develop more complete. Luckily we can all stand on the shoulders of these giants and be in the midst of this change.
CSDN: What are some of the problems Docker unique advantages?
Guiyang: The lightweight and fast characteristics relative to Hypervisor,container are most popular. Docker's learning threshold and use cost are very low, running in the system is not much resources, while Docker start and stop are very rapid, in general personal computers running a few Docker containers is very easy.
Consistency is also a bright spot for Container. The same container, regardless of where they run (personal computers, private servers, or public cloud services), can achieve consistent results. This feature can significantly improve the efficiency of the enterprise in product testing, continuous integration, or delivery and deployment.
In addition, the isolation technology solves the problem that has previously been a headache in operational dimensions: how to efficiently configure and maintain an application's operating environment. In order to take full advantage of hardware resources, there are times when we need to deploy multiple applications on the server and each application requires a different configuration. Once an application is removed from the system, removing the original configuration is cumbersome and potentially impacting other programs. Now that the isolation technology is applied, the application shares the system kernel, but it has a unique operating environment. While deploying and removing applications, it does not affect the operating system itself.

Guiyang: Taking the entrepreneurial project I led as an example, as a start-up, we are more open to accepting and using a new technology than most Internet companies in the country, but now it's a big risk for us to push Docker into the production environment. But we still want to be able to get users to use our products as soon as possible. For known problems, we will try to avoid them in the product to reduce the impact of these problems; for unknown issues, on the one hand we will always pay attention to other Docker practice enterprise release feedback, on the other hand we will be as much as possible to test our products, to the greatest extent to accumulate Docker Experience in operation and maintenance.

Guiyang: My theme is "CoreOS and container Management". At present, there are several commonly-used solutions in the operation and management of Docker, which need to be tested in scale and time. We chose the CoreOS + kubernetes approach to build the Docker base operating environment. CoreOS as a very young and characteristic operating system, its recognition degree is becoming more and more high, the system itself is more and more mature, greatly developed into a running Docker of the preferred operating system trend. CoreOS the system structure to a large extent, by using SYSTEMD to start the service on demand, distributed configuration, Automatic Updates, and read-only system files, these features make the operational phase of a small effort to manage it. Kubernetes is a set of Google open source container management tools, we are looking at it can be a complete set of users of the container together to manage, while the original more troublesome containers between the services found through the Overlay receptacle method to simplify.
