News and technology Beijing time March 23, according to foreign media reports, ebay announced today that its real estate information website Rent.com has been sold to Primedia company.

Primedia is a Web site for users to search for rental housing, apartment rentals and new home sales. Its assets include apartmentguide.com, rentals.com and rentalhouses.com. Primedia was just last year bought by private-equity TPG Capital at a price of 525 million dollars.

Rent.com is an asset that ebay bought for 415 million dollars in 2004. The site was then in line with the ebay company's classified and listed business development plan. But today, ebay has already transformed its core business into E-commerce, so selling the asset will not have a substantial impact on the company.

Neither ebay nor Primedia disclosed financial information about the transactions.
