July 15, according to foreign media reports, Oracle said in a statement in Thursday that it plans to release 78 patches in Tuesday to repair the security vulnerabilities of many of its software products, including 13 patches to repair Oracle's main database software vulnerabilities.
Oracle will release a database patch involving many versions of the database, including 11g R1 and R2 as well as 10G R1 and R2. Two of these vulnerabilities can be exploited on the network by an attacker and do not require a logon certificate.
There are three patches to repair Oracle's secure backup products. All three vulnerabilities can be exploited remotely without the need for identification.
Oracle plans to release 7 patches for its fusion middleware middleware software PRODUCT line, as well as 18 patches for Enterprise Manager Grid Control (Enterprise Manager gateway controls) software.
Oracle's E-commerce Suite software and Oracle supply chain management products each have a security patch. Meanwhile, Oracle plans to release more than 10 patches for the kernel software.
Oracle will also release 23 patches for its acquisition of Sun Microsystems products. These products include GlassFish servers, VirtualBox, Solaris operating systems, SPARC Enterprise M series, and SPARC T3 products. 8 of these vulnerabilities can be exploited on the network by attackers without requiring a username and password.
The number of security patches released by Oracle in Tuesday is roughly the same as the number of security patches released by Oracle in April. Oracle released 73 patches in April.
