Every year, I will pay close attention to the introduction of the new design site SEM best case. For the past four or five years, most of my suggestions have been the same. Today, we discuss some techniques that can be changed.

The introduction of a redesigned web site can cause many problems because the old content will go to different locations. To make sure that most of your pages are complete, for the main time, speeding up indexing your new page is the most important SEM-related issue.

A convenient way is to include a new URL in your XML sitemap. This is not a new approach, but for more than a year, Google has provided a lot of flexible XML sitemap.

You can also mix content in site map files to make it easier to build and manage feedback. For example, redesign requires a number of different sets of pages that were once located in the WWW subdomain and distributed in four new subdomains. In the past, you might be able to verify these subdomains with a site-management tool, and then place a sitemap file in each subdomain.

You also need to validate all subdomains, but you can now put four subdomains into a single XML feed and place files in any of the four subdomains.

You can also create five different XML feedback and submit it through a single site in the admin area. Official sitemaps.org clearly stated: "All URLs in the Sitemap must be in the same host." If the site map is located in Http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml, it cannot include Aihui URLs from http://subdomain.example.com. " Now, only Google attaches importance to this particular approach, Yahoo and Microsoft's Live Search engine, also attaches importance to the standard robots.txt automatic discovery technology.

Your URL must be adjusted for platform limitations or other technical issues. In a perfect redesign, your URL should be short and user-friendly, and it doesn't need to be adjusted.

If your site has thousands of pages, it is technically not feasible to reboot each page to a new copy. If you have limited resources to decide what URLs are useful for rebooting, I recommend two different tests.

First, evaluate the most popular landing pages. Many sites have 80/20 or R 90/10 Systems, and a lot of traffic goes through a relatively small web site URL. Login pages, not just organic search. When it chooses an important URL, each login point is equally important.

Second, the way to choose a valuable reboot URL is to use a Web browser such as Yahoo or Google site management tool, and so on, find out which URL has the most access links. These links may be the URL of traffic entry. Re-booting is extremely important for these URLs.

In general, both tests create a very familiar list of URLs. Outside, don't forget your site's HTML sitemap. It may show a situation where neither is the case, but it is the most important URL on the site. Sometimes, many things are wrong when rebooting. I have encountered these several sites, redesigned after no time to properly boot a large number of URLs, resulting in 404 error pages appear.

Of course, these two examples are not ideal. Under the understanding of the conditions, redesign, the site's old URL will produce 404 errors. 302 error pages will give it an extension of life because the search engine will prompt the content of the page to exist temporarily in one place. Once the reboot completes, the 302 reboot to the 301,url switch will enter a relatively seamless state.

Some techniques are new or are being used recently. The SEM fundamentals behind redesigning Web pages are the same: providing a way for search engines to discover new content as quickly as possible.
